Catching up on her first year

I've gone through all the photos from her first year (pared down from the original set of 25,000 pictures we took, to just the "good ones" that made it into albums online) & found many that slipped through the cracks, so I am trying to catch up on some photos from her first year ... and then stay current with what's happening now. I have to say I am so very glad I did the Project 365/Project Life album for her first year, because we were able to document so many little things that happen so fast! Now, I'll be switching over to doing a 12 of 12 format, so a monthly layout on the 12th of each month. Still, fun to document! Here's a page from around 6 months old, wearing a onesie that says it all: worth it and here she is with Santa Claus, who was a bit hit!: all smiles and from February 2012, a visit to the Shedd Aquarium with her aunt & uncle: shedd See ... random stuff, but fun to do! Coming up is the March 12 of 12 2 page layout, plus some more Disney things (including Halloween) and probably a single shot from Brookfield Zoo from about a month ago. We used to document our couple-hood & the cats & lots of pretty scenery. Alexandra's definitely the star of our show, now!

In case you needed more layouts to examine

Here's the page documenting my daughter wearing the same dress my mother wore when she was a toddler. My mother had no idea I'd saved it!

birthday gift

This page is going into our May 2011 Disney album. When we arrived at Disney's Hollywood Studios, a PhotoPass photographer snapped our picture. Alexandra was sound asleep through it all!

And this one is from an event almost a year ago, when my yoga buddies threw a shower for Alexandra:

Back to May 2011 again ...

That's all for now ... I need to get some pages done for a lady in Texas. We're swapping my handmade layouts for her handmade embroidered/appliqued items. It's wonderful!

Scrapbook pages, oh yes.

I've been caught up on my photos twice in my life. Let me tell you, it's pretty boring. You wind up taking random pictures of things just to have photos to work with. Or you ask for other people to give you photos to have something to do. I'm no longer at risk of being in that predicament, though. I'm probably going to be behind for the next 20 years at least. That's okay.

2010 is virtually untouched, and it actually is a pretty sparse year for photos. You can predict our happiness level from the number of pictures we take...and 2010 we were languishing in the adoption process. I do, however, have some very nice trip photos from 2 trips that year I'd like to get done & into albums. Having done a hatchet job on our Washington trip album, in the name of Having It Done, I think I will take my time.

So, I am using the same method I've used twice before, which is stay current and slowly work on the old photos. That being said, I've gone through the events of Alexandra's first life & found several gaps, so those photos are now printed up & I am going to work on those, too.

I've also decided that instead of doing Project 365/Project Life, which I did for her first year, I'm going to do a 12 of 12 album, using 2 12x12's per month and these month stickers I've been hoarding for-freaking-ever. See? I even get to use the pretty stuff ... or at least the stuff I Had To Have, about 10 years ago.

Without further ado, here are 2 pages celebrating Alexandra's birthday:
