I fell! *grin*

and I'm damned proud of it. I've not had very good experiences with falling. It tends to hurt a lot. I tried doing falls from squatting position & it made me dizzy & hurt my tailbone tremendously. Today, at training, one of the exercises had the aggressor (we take turns being the good guy & the bad guy) taking a fall, and I just went with it. I felt multiple times -- probably about 20, and didn't hurt myself & wasn't too scared. Success! I was also able to practice a move that seriously injured my left pinkie much earlier this year. Once bitten, twice shy and all that. Just sucked it up & did it. It's nothing big ... but it's big for me!

UHU Twist & Glue works like a charm!

Okay, count me a happy camper! The folks over at UHU were kind enough to send me a sample of their new Twist & Glue, and I was able to use it on a couple of pages this morning. On the first one, I was able to adhere little prima flowers & tags, with no bleed through, and it dried super fast! So, for paper-to-paper ... AWESOME. It also has a unique applicator tip so I can get a teeny drop or smear a wider swath. Rockin'.On the second layout, I had a bigger challenge -- this very neat journaling oval made out of some kind of plastic. I got them as a freebie, and although I like them, the only way I've been able to use them thus far has been to disguise the gluing by putting a flower on top, and even then, they didn't feel really stable. This stuff worked like a charm, and, again, even with plastic, dried within a matter of minutes. I can't wait to see what else I can use it on!

Favorite Summer Song #2

Sailing

We were just reminiscing...

Anyone else remember this show? We're looking for it on DVD or VHS!

It's called Going to Extremes and it aired in 1992 ... and doesn't appear to be available for love nor money!

Favorite Summer Song #6

Day O!

Review: The Name of The Wind

The Name of the Wind: The Kingkiller Chronicle: Day One The Name of the Wind: The Kingkiller Chronicle: Day One by Patrick Rothfuss

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars
Patrick Rothfuss tells a masterful story in an intriguing fashion. By the lead character reminiscing & telling his life story to a chronicler, the reader can see not only a story unfolding in the past, but the scene set (in future books) for how his life unfolds in the present. The protagonist's developmental years are covered in this novel, and although 90% of it is spent on his adolescence & the impulsiveness that marks him, he never comes across as painfully egocentric or bratty.

Summer's here!

I know this because the humidity is just miserable. And it's only at 74%, but I just hate feeling the extra damp in my clothes, my sheets, everything. And that is with the air-conditioning on and the house cooled to 73 degrees F. I'm definitely a cold-weather person. I don't mind heat & humidity when I'm outside, poolside, or beachside, but when I'm inside ... it'd better be comfortable! Ah, well...such is life with 4 seasons, and I adore the other 3, so I'll just tolerate this temporary discomfort!

Here we go again!!!

Well, we are just back from our Disney trip. So, now I have a whole 'nother slew of photos to make into an album. LOL. That's why I wanted so badly to get the album from last year done -- gotta keep those memories separate, so they don't cause confusion. And I still want to do a small album for my nephew, about the trip we took together for his 9th birthday in January! Here are a few pics from our vacation:

"You'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany."

"I like Chip. I can remember he's Chip because his nose looks like a chocolate chip, to me."

"Ooh! Sparkly carriage! Those dwarves must've been hard at work!"
Photobucket

"Bad Malificient! BAD! Prince Phillip's gonna mess you up!"
Photobucket

"Excuse me! May I have a large diet Coke please?"
Photobucket

"Excuse me! Does anyone know where the ladies' room is?"
Photobucket

"I love this place!"
