Never too young to start developing hobbies, right? We started her off at about one week with gaming:
And last week we progressed to scrapbooking:
Alexandra picked out the ribbon & tasted it to make sure it was good.
I could get used to this. But I don't think it'll last long. Once she's mobile, we'll have to get her a treadmill or something, let her do some cardio training. *wink*

Happy Mother's Day to me!!!
And my precious angel didn't disappoint. She laughed and smiled and cooed at many points throughout the day.
I do not think I've known a baby as happy as she is.
She's had 2 periods where she's drooling a lot & we think maybe a tooth or 2 are pushing in, far underneath the surface of the gums ... and if that's her at her most fussy, all I can say is we are blessed parents indeed. 2 hours of whimpering & being pitiful, then she's fine.
I am so pleased to be celebrating Mother's Day, I can't even begin to tell you. The last couple of years, I was quietly & keenly aware of not being a mom. This year -- deliriously happy. The journey to adopt was long & painful, but when I see this angel's eyes light up, all I can think is that it was totally worth it.
A few days ago, I went in to check on her (I could hear her doing her pre-wake-up grunting & squeaking), and as I hovered over her cradle, she opened her eyes, looked right at me & just broke into the biggest nose-crinkling grin. Dude. I'm a mom!

Something Missing by Matthew Dicks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book was recommended by Bethany Scott quite a while ago & I'm glad I finally got around to reading it. It was a quick, light piece, quirky & amusing. I also had to give it an extra star for the mere fact the main character uses a d10 to randomize some of his decisions!
