Photo A Day 12

We went to the farmers' market with $33 in our pockets. We left with 5 cents. We bought 2 ears of corn for $1. We bought some delicate white potatoes for $1.50. And we bought this 10 pound box of blueberries for $30. That's right. $30. When you consider it holds 12 pints, and most pints are selling for 4 or 5 dollars, we made a killing. We'll eat a bunch of them by the handful over the next few days ... some will no doubt get turned into baked goods & the rest, well, they'll be frozen & pulled out in the depth of winter. Oh, yeah. Yummy.

awesome! I have some fresh frozen blueberries in my freezer right now. The girls picked them with my parents a few weeks ago.

Yum....we just returned from two weeks in Indiana and much of the last few days were spent in a vain search for blueberries! Apparently Indiana berries are not yet ripe. We scored a load of black raspberries and cherries, but nary a single blueberry. My husband is quite envious of your blueberry photo, but will have to drown his sorrows in the two gallons of black raspberries he will be making into jam soon.
