Breathtakingly original

Today's Quote from A Fancy Word for Simple:

It is always better to be an original than an imitation. -Theodore Roosevelt

Damn straight! Don't we have enough knock-offs and cheap copies? I'd rather have an original creation than a mass-produced piece of garbage. Don't get me wrong, I'll never be able to afford a Monet or Renoir, so a print is just fine ... but it's not an imitation of a great artist, it's a representation of something that's an approximation of the original beauty. I like to think I'm an original. I am sure that not every action I take is something never before seen on the face of the planet, but I like to believe that I string ideas together just a little bit different ... use a slightly different set of perceptions, etc. It's kind of like listening to music "live" - you can FEEL the music in a way completely different from a recording, even if you have it at high volumes. Just breathtaking.

I'm extremely grateful to know I'm an original, one of a kind, unique, 'noone else like you' kinda person.

The rest of the world is grateful for that, too, I'm sure! ;-)
