My niece DOES take after me!

I am absolutely chortling with delight! My mother informed me, by phone tonight, that my niece was awed to learn I am taking swordfighting lessons. This information was delivered in between segments of watching The Princess Bride, and apparently, encouraged Lauren to fashion a sword out of Tinkertoys, wield it in a variety of poses, and beckon her grandfather with a classic "come hither" index finger gesture, complete with bold phrase: "Bring it on!" I will have to see if my short wooden tai chi sword is the right size for her to practice with ... and it makes me want to get my own practice blade so we can do this together, the next time I see her. I'll have to talk to my instructor tomorrow!
