I just knew it'd come in handy!
Last year, I "recycled" many of my holiday cards by punching out squares from the prettier sections of the cards & I saved them. For what, I was not entirely sure, but it seemed like it might come in handy. Well, I was right. It was a perfect solution for today's journaling prompt regarding holiday cards. I started laying them out on the page & remembered Shimelle's comment about whether or not we'd received any cards yet. YES! And I thought the envelope might be useful, so I ran into the garage & fished it out of the recycling. To my delight, it was almost exactly the same size as my page! I then ran up to my desk where I have a stash of saved postage stamps & found Mr. Snowman, got out some ink, and a pen (no cheating and using my personal handwriting font on this one, although I would have, if I'd had an inkjet transparency on hand...gotta go get me some of those), and told myself just to dive in. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Miracle of miracles, it actually resembles something like the idea in my head! Oh ... and on "the real thing", our address is visible ... I just don't want to publish it for the wholeworldwideweb to see.
The writing reads: Every year, I make some cards and buy others...I send them out by early Dec. In 2006, my cards were out by 12/2! We get cards from all over the world!

Lovely ... and great use of recycling!
What a great use for the cards. I also hate throwing them away and secretly I save a lot of my cards each year. I think this is a good solution.
