Again, we are making teeny tiny cookies -- this time, sugar cookies, in all kinds of lovely shapes and sizes. I think they're just going to have to stay naked for the night. We'll frost them tomorrow ... which will probably take the last "oomph" out of us, as we also have to put ornaments on the tree & clean house for our big party on Sunday. My parents arrive at 3 pm. They are ultra-cool & will pitch in if needed. I am blessed: My parents rock.

For those of you who wanted the recipe:
Traditional Sugar Cookie
3/4 c unsalted butter, softened
1/2 c sugar
1 egg
1 T lemon peel, finely grated
1 t Vanilla
2 1/4 c flour
2 T water
1. Beat together butter & sugar in small bowl until fluffy.
2. Beat in egg, lemon peel, vanilla, and salt
3. Gradually beat in flour until thorughly incorporated.
4. Add in water a few drops at a time, ONLY until dough starts to come away from side of bowl. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 2 hours.
5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheets.
6. On a floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out various shapes using cookie cutters.
7. Bake 5- 15 minutes, depending on size of cookie, just until cookies begin to brown on the edges.
