Snow + Heat = ICE

I find it fascinating that a little heat, in the form of sunlight or a gentle warmth radiating from a house, through a windowpane, can slowly transform snow into ice. This is one of the beautiful scenes from our front window. As the snow melts on our evergreen and our rose-of-sharon, it drips down, but then transforms into icicles, because it's not quite warm enough to just pool on the ground. As a result, we have several veritable waterfalls of icicles, and in the morning light, I find them stunningly beautiful.
