Aflutter ... and annoyed

I finished my first page ... and still, blogger won't let me upload any pictures. Not fair, I tell you. It's broken! So, I uploaded my page to my Photobucket account here:

'cause I won't let a pesky computer program thwart me. Nosiree bob! If you cannot make out the text, here is what it reads:

I had never thought about doing a whole book about Christmas, but when Karen posted about it over on House of Paper, I found myself intrigued. The truth is that I enjoy Christmas tremendously, but I do not know if that is readily apparent to others. I protect my enjoyment of it by making sure that gifts are purchased well in advance with great forethought, so my stress level is low. I observe people who become absolutely insane during the holiday season, and it doesn’t look fun to me. Not at all. So I do what I can to avoid the chaos and insanity by avoiding shopping malls the entire month of December. I also do my best to have gifts mailed out by the day before Thanksgiving, so I don’t have to deal with cranky people at the post office. That’s what just kills me about the holidays…it is just a delightful, magical, special time of year and yet it somehow brings out some of the worst in people. So, I fight back by surrounding myself with peace, grace, and class. If things don’t come together perfectly, I honestly do not care. The point is that during this season I have a chance to reflect on my relationships with family & friends, and to show them I care by lovingly selecting gifts to enhance their lives, to make them smile, or to satisfy a longing. So, I am starting this book to record my thoughts, to preserve my feelings, and to document the days as they unfold, so others can share in my enjoyment of Christmas. I am looking forward to the whole journey.

Very nice! Love the pics of your lights in snow too...and your poor mail box! Have that happen to us from time to time also, such is the way of life when you deal with frozen tundra!
